It has been a lifelong dream to have my own 'store'. In years past I had aprilbaskets.com, April Showers Custom Gifts, and had a storefront on West 11th but really did mostly delivery and did not have set store hours. This summer, we are opening up a roadside farm stand that will be open Saturdays and other hours/days by appointment. Our family is very excited and looking forward to adding to our store weekly! We will start with eggs, honey, locker pork, spices, baking mixes, essential oils, and baked goods. As cherries and apples come into season we will have those available from our orchard as well. Working with our customers to find those items that are needed and wanted. We will work with other local families to sell their produce and other products as well. A neighborhood cooperative to bring unique gifts, farm fresh produce and other products direct to you.
Our goal is not to compete with other local businesses, but to compliment our many talented neighbors with items you can use and gift to others. There are a few baked items that seem to be popular :-) and others we will work with neighbors to provide. As an example... I will do mini pies, but our neighbor is Mom's Pies - if you need full size pies - we will work with them to get you what you need! My cousin is a very talented artist and will have paintings and other craft items available, my other neighbor does metal art and we would love to have some of his items, and other local artisans... that is our goal. Offer variety and local vendors to give you options for your shopping needs.
Early July is our goal. The 'Farm Stand' building was ordered and will be delivered at the end of June - then some sheet rock and other improvements are to be made and then we will open up! It is a tough season to open a business and we understand that and will work to do all the sanitizing, social distancing and respectful environment aspects that we can to make everyone comfortable in our stand.
Watch for more updates, pictures and progress updates as we move through this process. We are excited to be there for you and will post updates about artisans and other products that will be available as we prepare for our opening in July. The goal is to give you an idea of the products that will be available and give some history on each person so you know how your products are produced and ready for you, our customers.
Welcome to Falling Oaks Farm Stand - we can't wait to serve you!
